My experience at Global Laser Vision was Phenomenal. I am so happy with my “new eyes”! I love being able to see the alarm clock in the morning, and being able to wear my sunglasses.

I have been thinking about getting corrective surgery for my eyes for years, but was scared and didn’t think I could afford it. Last month, I started researching on Yelp and reading reviews and asked my friends who had it done and they all went to the same place. I’m very happy with my choice. I purchased the Groupon deal ($2,500 for both eyes). I was concerned I would be treated differently with the Groupon deal but that was not the case at all; Analisa in the finance office was amazing! I went with my two year old son and she and the rest of the staff were nothing but accommodating. Dr.Yagouti is excellent. He does talk super super fast though, so you have to listen and follow lol. I felt at ease with him, he was very thorough in his assessments. They make sure that you really are a good candidate for Lasik, and is firm about having follow up appointments to make sure everything is going well after the surgery.

After a lot of research and multiple consultations I came to Dr Pham based on a friend’s referral. Boy am I glad I did. He is awesome. Not only is he a nice guy, but he is a thorough and competent doctor. After my consultation I knew for sure he was the Dr for me. Having Lasik is a big decision, and I wanted to make sure I didn’t end up blind or something because I was looking for a good deal. You should not skimp on this procedure people, and if the place sends out a groupon…RUN! there is a reason for that!

Back to review, I knew Dr Pham was the doctor for me because he actually cared about me. I was more than a dollar sign to him and his staff. he treats you like family, before, during and after the procedure. He made me feel like very special and I immediately trusted him 100%.

The day of surgery I was definitely nervous, especially walking into the surgery room. But he quickly calmed me down, and they told me what they were doing step by step. And they were constantly reassuring me and telling me how great I was doing. That made me feel great and the surgery time flew by. And after the surgery, I could see! I have 20/20 vision! It’s been two weeks since the surgery and I couldn’t have been happier with the results. I interviewed the other doctors in the area, Dr. Chao and Dr. Tooma, and ultimately went with Dr. Pham because of his VISIX S4 Excimer Laser and price. I did some research into the latest and best laser and found Abbot’s laser was better than Tooma’s Allegretto laser for normal sized pupils and smaller prescriptions. From what I read, the Allegretto seems to require more expertise from the doctor, so I made my bet on the better equipment. Don’t get me wrong, Dr. Pham is a very capable doctor, but Tuoma has the reputation of doing hundreds of thousands of surgeries.

I also did research on Dr. Pham’s schooling background and his pedigree is pretty darn good. He’s from San Diego and I think his practice is more established in SD. That may be the reason he’s charging less than his competitors to expand the OC practice.

BTW, other side benefits I learned from the whole experience. I no longer have headaches (I used to from wearing glasses), not nearly as tired as I used to be due to less eye strain, and in general I’m happier.

The single best decision I’ve made in my life was chosen via Yelp. Honestly, it sounds weird to trust your one-of-a-kind eyes to some website but looking through the reviews and checking this place out — I was glad I made this choice and my friends that I’ve referred wholeheartedly agree as well.

I had a list of places I wanted to check out but narrowed it down to NVISION and here. I read about how NVISION walks you around analogous to cattle moving through an assembly line. Me personally, I’ve never been a fan of being herded or following blindly in like sheep. You meet your surgeon for 5 minutes and sent off for post-op consultations with your optometrist. I’m not sure if it’s true or not, but as a patient who went through the entire process from beginning to end here at OC LASIK Institute, I can truly say my experience was NOTHING like that at all.

Dr. Pham and staff are with you from BEGINNING TO END, pre-op all the way past post-op. I received personal care and attention from Dr. Pham and staff every time. He even personally called me to check up if everything was going good after my surgery.

I had a lot of issues with my eyes and my ocular health and habits were extremely poor: corneal ulcers, dry eyes, constantly rubbing my eyes, you name it, I probably had it. Dr. Pham nurtured my eyes with a strict regimen of prescription drops in addition to not wearing glasses and stop rubbing my eyes. I did this for a month and half or so before my surgery date.

It’s been a little over 6 weeks since my surgery (PRK) and I’m officially 20/20 (and likely still improving). My vision now is MUCH BETTER than contacts or glasses. It really puts it to shame. Every leaf, pine cone, blade of grass, window, or sign in the distance can be seen clearly and accurately. Someone said it’s like someone turned on HD on my eyes. That’s really what it’s like. Single handedly the best I’ve ever spent my money on.

Oh, and if you’re worried about discomfort, pain, or anything else, don’t be. I had absolutely zero complications. No dry eye, no halos/starbursts, no issues driving at night, no nothing – just perfect vision! My friends who received LASIK also had absolutely zero complications.

Honestly, I’d probably leave a 5 star review just for having Otis Spunkmeyer cookies (get white chocolate macadamia – so good!) and bags and bags of treats/candy in their waiting room, along with a Keurig. The staff there is professional, friendly , and all-around great people who I wouldn’t even mind being friends with.

Everyone in the office is really friendly and polite, from the receptionist baking cookies at the desk (really), to the finace guy/assistant. One strange thing is that every single time I came here they had Finding Nemo playing at a deafening volume in the waiting room.

Dr. Pham himself is everything you’d want in a doctor who is going to literally slice and burn your corneas. There’s something really comforting about him, sort of the way all doctors should be but aren’t. Aside from being completely professional, he was extremely thorough and patient. He was forever making sure I didn’t have any unaswered questions or concerns. I was given a ton of information and never felt rushed or pressured.

The procedure is performed at a clinic in Newport Beach, however all pre and post-op appointments are done here. During the surgery Dr. Pham was great at easing nerves and counting down the seconds before certain parts were done. When you’re lying with your eyelids clamped open like A Clockwork Orange and all you can see is random lights and flashes of color, it really helped to know you only had to hold still for 15 more seconds…

Dr Pham called a few hours after the procedure to check up on me. A doctor who calls his patient directly – in 2011 – amazing!

I can’t recommend Dr. Pham enough for anyone considering Lasik.

Even if you’ve gone to a million other consults, you haven’t experienced quality till you’ve given Dr. Pham and his team at OC Lasik Institute a try.

Of all the consults I had done (about 3 total) I felt the most welcome, and the most comfortable with Dr. Pham.
